It's everywhere, and it's nowhere.

By definition, marketing is the action or business
of promoting and selling products or services.
But let's go further. How do we promote or sell?

Communication is the underlying fabric of all humanity. Think about it. It is literally part of all interpersonal behaviors, and there's no exception when it comes to brands and companies trying to promote or sell a product or service. So when I say it's everywhere and it's nowhere, I mean it's a seamless part of our everyday lives whether we realize it or not. Marketing is communication. It can be an unassuming conversation between two people at a party. It can also be a very direct, 1-way message like a big shiny billboard. There are many approaches, which means the real question is what form of communication is most effective?

Well, that depends on who you're talking to.

First things first - research.
Take the time to search and
discover what you want
to accomplish with
your marketing.

Once you've nailed down
what you want to accomplish
with your marketing, identify
the types of people you
want to reach.

Now you know who you'll be
talking to, great! Time to cut
through the crowd with
eye-catching visual content,
such as video.

Your initial research should
also help you identify the
tendencies of your target
audience. Such as social
media and mobile
device usage.

Have a strong call-to-action!
Make sure you give people
a next step after they engage
with your content, like a
subscribe button or a
link to your online shop.

Last but not least, data.
This is where you can
analyze your marketing
efforts to see what works
and what doesn't,
adjust your strategy,
and repeat the cycle!
